Hybrid Academy Surulere ("we", "us", "our", "the Academy") respects your privacy. This page explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us:
- Contact form: your name, phone number, email address, programme of interest, and message.
- Student (LMS) registration: your name, email address, and a password (stored securely — we never see or store your password in readable form).
- Learning activity: which courses and lessons you access, your lesson completion progress, and your quiz scores, so you and your tutors can track your learning.
- Blog comments: the name and comment text you choose to submit publicly.
We do not knowingly collect any more information than is needed for the purposes described on this page.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to enquiries submitted through the Contact Us form.
- To create and manage your student account and give you access to the courses you're enrolled in.
- To track your lesson and quiz progress so tutors can support your learning.
- To moderate and publish blog comments.
- To improve the website and the Academy's programmes.
How We Store and Protect Your Information
Your information is stored using Supabase, a reputable third-party database and authentication provider, with industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections and access controls that restrict who can view your data. Only authorised Academy administrators can access enquiry messages, student records, and account information — students can only see their own data.
Video Lessons and Third-Party Services
Course videos are hosted on YouTube or Vimeo and embedded into lesson pages. When you play a video, YouTube or Vimeo may set their own cookies in accordance with their own privacy policies, which are outside our control. The floating WhatsApp button, if clicked, will open a conversation on WhatsApp, governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
Children's Privacy
Some of our students are minors preparing for O-Level, WAEC, NECO, JAMB/UTME or Cambridge/Edexcel examinations. Where a student is under 18, we expect a parent or guardian to be aware of and consent to their registration on this website. Parents or guardians may contact us at any time to review, update, or request deletion of their child's information.
Data Retention
We retain contact enquiries and student account information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services and respond to enquiries, or until you request deletion.
Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, and request deletion of your data, subject to any legal or legitimate business reasons we may need to retain it. To exercise any of these rights, please reach us through our Contact Us page.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
